Mending Lines and Mending Souls
In the winter you'll want to dress in layers. In the summer dress comfortably.
Bring sunglasses, hat, sunscreen (no sprays), snacks, water bottle, rain jacket, FISHING LICENSE and STEELHEAD REPORT CARD. Waders and boots come in handy especially on the smaller rivers but are not required for some trips.
Your guide will provide rod, reel and all required fishing equipment and flies. For all day trip the guide will also provide a lunch.
Absolutely!!! We do this for a living everyday and love what we do. We provide guide servicea to everyone regardless of age, background, or experience. Guiding is also another avenue for us to provide funds for our veterans. 10% of all paid guide trips go directly toward our mission to support veterans.
That is up to you. Most guides can accommodate up to two people on the drift boat or raft. However if you are both new to fly fishing you may find a solo trip to be more helpful to focus on developing your new skills. For walk and wade trips guides can accommodate up to four people for an additional $175 cost per person.
No. Shuttle service costs and availability vary based upon location and float. You may opt to self shuttle but this can eat into some of your fishable time. Shuttle costs vary between $30 and & $80.
It is up to the client how much you tip your guide but industry standard is between 20-25% of the total trip cost. While nothing is ever expected it is always appreciated. Keep in mind that your guide typically has to work harder on slower days so base your gratuity on the service provided not the quantity of fish caught, especially if you are learning and the trip is more of a private lesson.
